Guys - I have suffered from similar issues with the 3ware 9650SE in several production SANs. LSI tech confirmed it's a bug in the firmware which causes controller resets under high load. They provided a development firmware to fix the issue but I'm not happy releasing that in to a production environment.
A google search returns some results, but it's all just junkware websites with no actual valid driver downloads available. I'm willing to try another RAID controller - preferably one with 8 ports so I can utilize all of the drive slots, but I don't want to break the bank for this.
