Adobe Bridge Photoshop
Beginning with the October 2017 release of Bridge, a new Output workspace has been introduced to generate PDF contact sheet natively in Bridge. Get the instructions to create a PDF contact sheet in Output workspace. The existing Adobe Output Module (AOM) plug-in is no longer supported in Bridge 2018.
- Adobe Bridge is an efficient standalone file manager coming bundled with Adobe Photoshop (since CS2) and replacing the File Browser of the previous versions. The following tips will help you to manipulate metadata of your files when working in Adobe Bridge.
- The existing Adobe Output Module (AOM) plug-in is no longer supported in Bridge 2018. If you're using Bridge 2017 or earlier, you can download the Adobe Output Module (AOM) plug-in and get installation instructions. To check your current Bridge version, choose Help About Bridge from the menu bar.
- There is place to launch Mini-Bridge, but it says you have to have Bridge running to launch Mini-Bridge. I don't want Bridge to launch by default when CS6 launches ( don't need it all the time, don't want it to use system resources when not needed). Is there an option to launch Bridge within photoshop?
- Bridge used to be shipped with the Mac version of Elements, but starting with Elements 9, both Mac & PC now have Organizer.Bridge has very unfortunately been lost in the transition. If only Adobe would hear some of our pleas to either give us the.option. to use either Bridge or Organizer.or sell Bridge as a standalone product.
Learn how to install Adobe Bridge CC, a powerful file browser and companion program for Photoshop. Bridge CC is included as part of your Creative Cloud subscription. To install Bridge, we'll use the Creative Cloud desktop app. This tutorial is specifically for Photoshop CC users.
Adobe Bridge Photoshop Cc 2017
In this series of tutorials, we're learning how to get started with Adobe Photoshop. Part of getting started with Photoshop means installing Adobe Bridge, a separate application that's included with your Creative Cloud subscription. Bridge is a file browser that lets us find, organize, select and open our images. Your computer's operating system also has a built-in file browser (File Explorer in Windows or Finder on a Mac). But Adobe Bridge is much more powerful and easier to use. And Bridge has lots of great features that your operating system's file browser doesn't have.
In the next tutorials in this series, we'll learn more about Adobe Bridge and why we want to use it. First, we'll learn how to use Bridge to download photos from your camera to your computer. Then, we'll look at the many features of Bridge that make finding, organizing, previewing and selecting images both easy and intuitive. And, as we'll learn in the next series of tutorials, Adobe Bridge is also the best way to open images directly into Photoshop's powerful image editing plugin, Camera Raw.
But before we can learn how to use Adobe Bridge, we first need to install it. This tutorial on installing Bridge is specifically for Photoshop CC users. That's because Adobe Bridge CC (the version of Bridge included with your Creative Cloud subscription) needs to be installed separately. We'll learn how to install it in this tutorial using the Creative Cloud desktop app. With Photoshop CS6 and earlier, Bridge installs automatically with Photoshop, so there's no need to install it ourselves. If you're using Photoshop CS6 or earlier, you can skip ahead to the next tutorial in this series, How To Download Photos From Your Camera With Bridge.
This is lesson 2 of 8 in Chapter 1 - Started with Photoshop.
Installing Adobe Bridge CC
Step 1: Open The Creative Cloud Desktop App
To install Adobe Bridge CC, we use the Creative Cloud desktop app. If you've already downloaded and installed Photoshop CC, you'll have the Creative Cloud app on your computer. It should be running in the background. We can open the app by clicking on its icon. On a Windows PC, you'll find the Creative Cloud icon in the notification area on the right of your taskbar along the bottom of the screen:
On a Mac, the Creative Cloud icon is located on the right of the menu bar along the top of the screen:
Step 2: Switch To The Apps Section
Clicking the icon opens the Creative Cloud desktop app. Select the Apps category from the menu along the top:
Step 3: Scroll Down To Bridge CC And Click 'Install'
This opens a list of Creative Cloud apps already installed on your computer, as well as apps that are not yet installed but are available to download. The apps you see in your list will depend on your Creative Cloud subscription plan, but Adobe Bridge is included with every subscription. Scroll down through the list until you find Bridge CC. Then, click the Install button:

When Bridge has finished installing, a message will pop up telling you that Bridge CC has been installed. To close the Creative Cloud app, click anywhere outside of it on your screen to collapse it back into its icon:
Where to go next..
And there we have it! We've installed Adobe Bridge CC and we're ready to go. In the next lesson in this chapter, we'll learn how to use Bridge to download photos from your camera to your computer!

In Creative Suite 5, Adobe has dramatically enhanced the Adobe Bridge application and even included a mini panel version for Photoshop CS5 named, appropriately, Mini Bridge. The Adobe Bridgeapplication helps you organize and manage your assets, such as pictures, text, and movie and audio files, as well as non-Adobe applications such as Word or Excel files.
Adobe Bridge acts like a hub for the Creative Suite; for example, by choosing to open files using the Bridge interface, you can browse directories quickly and see thumbnail previews of files, as shown.
You can even use the Filter panel to help find files and view metadata to your file, including important information such as keywords and copyright information. Bridge not only makes a great deal of information accessible, but it can also be used as a central resource for all your Help needs.
Not all Adobe Bridges are the same. If you installed the Adobe programs separately (not using the Creative Suite installer), the program on your machine may be lacking some features. If you notice that you don’t have access to features mentioned here, check to see whether all the CS5 applications are installed or run the CS5 installer again.
Knowing where to locate the Adobe Bridge application is helpful. Bridge should already be in your system if you completed a standard installation of any product in the entire suite. If you don’t find Bridge installed, go back and choose to install it using your original installation media. After you install the Bridge software, you can open it in one of three ways:
Access the Bridge software with the directory system of your computer. Navigate to C:ProgramsAdobeAdobe BridgeBridge (Windows) or Hard DriveApplicationsAdobe BridgeBridge (Mac).
Click the Launch Bridge button on the Application bar. If you don’t see the Launch Bridge icon, you can choose File→Browse in Bridge. Launch into Bridge from any of the applications included in the Creative Suite.
In Photoshop, you can click the MB (Mini Bridge) on the Application bar to open a panel with a miniature version of Bridge.
