Issue:
Trying to open VRED 2018 you get the error:'No valid license found!'

- But today appeared a message as 'No Valid Key Found' when opening Simatic Manager. I checked the installed keys with Automation License Manager and it reports that licenses are OK. I moved the Keys to the floppy, reinstalled the Automation License Manager, and installed the keys again, but the problem stillhappens.
- I put a trace on it and appears it cannot read license file key. I also tried to install another temp license, but that failed since no other previous valid license was found. At this point, I'm thinking I need to manually insert the license key into the database, but not sure what table or exactly how. SAP has not provided a solution yet.

Unfortunately, the command line functionality is only available in the SQL Data Compare pro version so as you're using a standard SQL Data Compare license you will be unable to use it.

Redgate might want to update their product pages for SQL Compare to mention this 'Pro' version thing and its implications. The only reason I was even looking at this functionality is because the product page talked about it and I figured I'd take a quick look.
From what I can see, the only way to get the Pro version is to buy the SQL Toolbelt. But, the price for that is much more than I can reasonably justify for what we use RedGate tools for, so it's not going to happen. - 0·Share on Twitter
