Walther Ppk Serial Numbers

They are part of the proof code on the gun and not the serial number. The country of manufacture should be stamped on the gun. There are not many choices. Germany or the US. Guns made at the France plant were sent to Germany for final Proof, so the country of origin is Germany. All Walther PPK/S were produced in one of 2 places, France or the US. The serial number is '9800AAA'. I have never seen a serial number end in 3 letters, let alone three of the same letter.

I have a Walther PP for sale, and I have a guy who wants to buy it, but he won't buy it unless I can prove that it is war time. Pistols are not my strong point, so I need help dating this pistol. It is a standard PP, there are no markings on it except for the serial number and maker code. It has a rough war finish, and there is no Walther legend on the left side. The number is 389337 P, and directly below it is the AC maker code. I can find no prood marks anywhere on the gun.
Any help that can be offered would be greatly welcomed.
When Walther began its production, PP serial number started at 750000. In 1938 when they reached one million, they restarted numbering at 10000 P and reached 396000 P by the end of the war. Total PP production from 1929 to 1945 is estimated at half a million. The series includes the Walther PP, PPK, PPK/S, and PPK/E models. German walther ppk serial numbers, interarms ppk serial numbers. When it was assembled and sold might be something different. Number is something like 435356 and the 356 has been etched into the plastic of both magazines.
